The waterfall can be accessed via an easy walking trail, or you can make a circuit, which has a small amount of climbing and some muddy patches. Park in the village of Stonethwaite and walk along the river for 15 minutes past the Langstrath Country Inn. It makes for incredibly easy and safe access into the water, just right for young kids. It takes just a few minutes, but would be slippery after rain, so it does require care. Youll be walking on a flat gravel path, past farmland, but with wonderful views out to the fells. High up in the mountains, the still water perfectly reflecting the impressive Langdale Pikes is one of the best views in the Lake District. The stone steps are uneven, but they only last for 250m. The lower portion is perfect for swimming and relaxing for all the family, either in the water or around the shoreline. Walk length: 1.4 miles (2.2km) return Difficulty: Easy. FYI, the name of this waterfall is not Chockstone Falls, but we werent able to find out the real name, so christened it after the chockstone that it flows under! You can reach the falls via several different tracks, most of which are very quick and easy. The waterfall has a series of drops, each with its own unique beauty.
